We believe every child is unique. Beyond academic foundations, we focus on character, emotional regulation, teamwork and environmental awareness. FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything Jurong West parents ask before enrolling.

What curriculum does MapleBear follow?
MapleBear Jurong West follows the Canadian bilingual immersion curriculum, combining language immersion with play-based learning to nurture well-rounded development. Our curriculum is developed by Canadian early childhood education experts and adapted for Singapore's multicultural context. We focus on creativity, critical thinking, social skills, and bilingual fluency in English and Mandarin, preparing children for primary school and beyond. Learn more about our curriculum approach.
What government subsidies are available?
We accept CDA payments. Eligible Singapore Citizen children may receive ECDA Basic Subsidy and, depending on household circumstances and assessment, Additional Subsidy. Admissions can explain the application documents, but ECDA determines the final amount. See our published fees and subsidy guide.
How far is the centre from NTU?
Our centre at 50 Yunnan Drive 1 is within roughly a 10-minute drive of NTU under normal traffic conditions. Travel time varies by starting point and traffic, so families should check the current route before a tour. See our NTU location and transport guide.
What age groups do you accept?
We welcome children from 2 months old (Infant Care) through to 6 years old. Our programmes include: Infant Care (2-17 months), Toddler (18 months-2 years), Playgroup (2-3 years), Nursery (3-4 years), and Kindergarten (4-6 years). We offer both full-day (7am-7pm) and half-day (7am-1pm) options to fit different family schedules and needs.
How do you handle separation anxiety?
We use a gradual settling-in approach based on the child's needs, with consistent routines, familiar comfort items where appropriate and regular parent communication. The educator and family agree the practical arrangement because each child's adjustment time is different.
Is bilingual immersion effective for non-Chinese families?
Yes. The programme supports children from Mandarin-speaking and non-Mandarin-speaking homes. Teachers use visual aids, gestures, songs, stories and contextual cues to build understanding of English and Mandarin gradually.
What makes MapleBear Jurong West different from other preschools?
Several features set us apart: (1) an in-house kitchen serving fresh meals daily; (2) current transport options families can discuss with admissions; (3) small classes and personal attention; (4) a quiet residential location with a backyard and outdoor playground; and (5) a Canadian bilingual curriculum. Book a tour to verify the current classroom setup and meet the team.
Can I visit the centre before enrolling?
Yes. Free tours are available by appointment on weekdays and Saturdays. Book through the website form, WhatsApp +65 8511 0339 or call the centre; admissions will confirm an available time.
